DIADORA BORG ELITE

In the mid 80s many brands moved production to the far east due to cheaper manufacturing costs. One company who still produce in their home country are Diadora. 'Made in Italy' used to signify a quality garment or in Diadora's case quality trainers and to this day that can still be said for many of Italy's home product. Diadora still produce most of their footwear in Italy as they have done since 1948.
The name came to everyones attention once Bjorn Borg stepped onto the hallowed turf at Wimbledon in 1981 in his 'Elites'. Hand made of kangaroo leather the 'Elite' came in either a gold or silver version.
Now we here that Footpatrol have worked closely with Diadora to replicate those two iconic trainers and have produced 100 per colour in the same kangaroo leather with as much attention to the original detail being adhered to. The gold version features a gum sole whilst the silver has a grey sole. Cost is £99.99 and for that you also get an original inspired box. The trainers go on sale tomorrow on their website and in stores.
